Gago Coutinho Secondary School – Refurbishment and Improvement

With a construction area of 11,382 m2, the project included:

Rehabilitation of Block A, which includes all administrative and management services, customer service offices, the library and a room for large groups, supporting the library and the school atrium;

Rehabilitation of Block B with spaces for teachers on the ground floor and the ICT center on the 1st floor, also containing normal classrooms and small group rooms (1 per block) on the 2nd floor;

Rehabilitation of Block C with spaces on its ground floor intended for the Arts nucleus, also containing normal classrooms and small group rooms (1 per block) on the 2nd floor;
Construction of Block F2 where the spaces for the students’ area will be located and which includes the cafeteria and support spaces (kitchen and cafeteria). This block also houses the school shop, the students’ association and the school radio;
Rehabilitation of Block E, which will have 6 laboratories, 4 on the ground floor and 2 multipurpose rooms on the 1st floor, also containing normal classrooms and small group rooms (1 per block) on the 2nd floor;
Rehabilitation of Block D1 (Sports Pavilion);
Rehabilitation of Block P (Lobby);
Construction of Outdoor Spaces, which provided for a covered circulation area between Blocks A, B, C, and E, and a different treatment of outdoor spaces with circulation areas, educational gardens, sports fields, two parking areas for vehicles, to support the workshop building and the school’s administrative nucleus.
